On November 10, 2020 National Unity Day was celebrated at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Chennai. A cultural program was presented by the Russian compatriots living in Chennai and family members of employees of the Russian consular mission. The display of Russian national cuisine was also arranged at the venue.

Addressing the function, Mr. O.N.Avdeev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Chennai, highlighted the historic significance of the National Unity Day. He emphasized that all the compatriots living abroad represented one great community of the “Russian World”. Retaining their national identity, language, culture and values, they have been contributing to the promotion of the rich historical and cultural heritage of Russia.
