On January 29, Mr. Oleg N. Avdeev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Chennai, visited Kristu Jayanti College affiliated to Bengaluru North University where and addressed the students and postgraduates of this education institution. The College caters to the requirement of around 7200 students from all over India and 23 foreign countries.

In his address, O.N.Avdeev dwelt on the crucial goal of higher education, which is to train responsible citizens of their country, capable of making their contribution to its progress. He also emphasized the importance of international students’ exchanges, told the audience about the educational programs of the Russian universities and about the free scholarships provided by the Russian Government to Indian nationals.
